Maria Wasko, of Chicago, IL passed away March 11, 2022 at the age of 92.

She was a beloved wife, mother and aunt who was dedicated to her family.

Maria was preceded in death by her son, Mykhaylo Levkonovich, and her late husband Mykola Wasko. She is survived by her hubsand Bohdan Andrusiv, her 3 nieces Janina Momotiuk, Barbara Gawel, and Maria Zasypko as well as 7 great nieces and nephews.

Maria was devoted to her church, Sts. Volodymyr & Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church. She sang in the choir for many years, and enthusiastically helped to prepare meals for church events. Maria was an accomplished cook and baker who proudly prepared traditional Ukrainian foods for the family and special events. She was also a very talented embroiderer who would embroider dresses, blouses, tablecloths and handkerchiefs for many people. Maria was proud of her Ukrainian heritage and dreamed of returning to Ukraine to live our the remainder of her days but was unable to achieve this due to her failing health.

Visitation for Maria will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Sts. Volodymyr & Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church starting at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
