Nikolaj Scharikow, age 93, passed away the morning of December 24, 2025.  Beloved husband of Olga and Loving father of George.  Dearest uncle of 9 nieces and nephews ;  Cherished godfather to 1-girl and 1-boy.  Nikolaj was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.    Nikolaj proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Nikolaj will Lie In State on Tuesday, December 30 from 6-9 P.M.  AT  Holy Virgin Protection Russian Orthodox Cathedral ; 1800 Lee Street; Des Plaines, 60018 .       Funeral Service Wednesday, December 31 at  9 A.M. in the Cathedral.    Following will be a funeral procession to Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove for a graveside burial.
