Oksana Melnyk passed away peacefully, with her family by her bedside, on Wednesday, October 21;  she was 98 years old.

Oksana was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Ihor Melnyk.  Cherished mother of Areta "Rita" (Peter) Rago,  Christine (Scott) Magnuson,  the late Dr. George Melnyk and the late Alex Melnyk.  Devoted grandmother to Diana, Dr. Alexandra, Michael, Steven, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Jennifer & Jon.  Loving great-grandmother of Eliza, Samantha, Liran ..... and 3 "on the way" !  Dearest sister of Maria Ersteniuk and the late Emilia Saraczynski.  Dear daughter of the late Ivan & Ewdokija Platko.

Visitation will be held at Muzyka Funeral Home in Chicago's Ukrainian Village on Wednesday, October 28 from 3 - 8 P.M. with a Panachyda ( Ukrainian Prayer Service ) at 7 P.M.

Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 29 starting with a Funeral Panachyda 10:00 A.M. at Chapel followed by a procession to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral for a 10:30 Funeral Service.   Following, a procession to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery for a graveside interment.
