Oksana, the only child of Pelagia and Jurij Teodorowycz was born in Sambir, Ukraine. She shared her childhood in Ukraine with her two cousins and later in life enjoyed many more memories with them in Europe, Massachusetts and other places.
Oksana began her formal education in Regensburg, Germany and received her BFA from the Art Institute Of Chicago in 1963. In 1960, while still a student, one of her oil paintings was accepted for an exhibit held at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Over time her enamels were exhibited in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Cleveland. An enamel of the "Virgin and Child" presented to Patriarch Josyf Slipyj, hangs in the permanent collection of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Rome. She also took part in painting the interior of Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church, Chicago.
Oksana and her friend Robert traveled extensively in Canada. She loved Mt. Robson in the Canadian Rockies and visited Ukrainian churches, cemeteries, Dauphin, Manitoba, Vegreville Pysanka, Ukrainian Museum Of Saskatoon, sunflower fields. She met many wonderful Canadian Ukrainians, her favorite being a Basilian priest, Father Josaphat Konchak. Oksana spent many years enjoying her father's 15-acre pine Shangri-La in Wisconsin.
