Rostyslaw Markewycz passed away peacefully  on Monday, June 15, 2026 with his wife at his side.  He was 99 years old.  On Sunday, he was blessed to spend the day will all his children, their spouses, and all his grandchildren.  They had the opportunity to share memories, laughter and in the end, loving goodbyes.  They made it into their own special Father's Day.   Beloved husband of Irene; Devoted father of Mary, Helen (Dr. Oleh) Terleckyj and Myron (Dr. Natalie); Cherished grandfather of Nicholas (Nicole) Terleckyj, Andrew Terleckyj and Luke Terleckyj;  Dr. Hanna Markewycz and Alex Markewycz.  Dear uncle of many.

He was a dedicated member of St. Nicholas Senior Citizens Club, Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus, Surma, and of course Lions Soccer Club.  He was a passionate sportsman and passed this love to his children and grandchildren.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Visitation will be held at Muzyka Funeral Home, 2157 W. Chicago Ave. ( at N.Leavitt St. ); Chicago 60622  on Friday, June 19th from 3-8 P.M. with a Panachyda ( Ukrainian Wake Service ) at 7 P.M.         Funeral will start at Muzyka on Saturday, June 20 at 9 A.M. followed by a procession to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral for a 9:30 A.M. Funeral Service. Graveside  Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery; Chicago.
